Responsibility Sewn Into Every Stitch

Responsible Uniform Manufacturing for a Better Industry Future

Transparent supply chains, reduced footprint goals, and dedicated oversight that ensure progress for workers, customers, and the environment.

Leading with Integrity and Respect

At BonChef, we believe every uniform should be made with dignity, care, and respect for the people behind it.

At BonChef, ethical manufacturing is at the heart of everything we do. We follow a strict supplier selection process, ensuring that only factories committed to fair wages, safe working conditions, and responsible production become part of our supply chain. Before partnering with any manufacturer, we personally inspect, approve, and maintain direct relationships to uphold our high ethical standards. Our local agents and dedicated staff work closely with our garment factories to ensure full compliance with our ethical policies. From testing fabrics at the source to monitoring production practices, we prioritise transparency, quality, and worker well-being, ensuring every BonChef uniform is made with integrity and care.

Our Supply Chain Code of Conduct

At BonChef, we are committed to ethical and responsible manufacturing. Our products are made in our own factory and by carefully selected suppliers who employ thousands of individuals worldwide. We work closely with our partners to ensure fair wages, safe working conditions, and an inclusive, discrimination-free environment. All suppliers must comply with national regulations and meet the following minimum ethical and safety standards:

Freely Chosen Employment

No forced, involuntary, or bonded labour is permitted. Employees must be free to leave their job with reasonable notice.

Fair Hours & Wages

Working hours must follow local labour laws, and overtime must be voluntary and paid at a premium rate.

Maternity Rights

All female employees must have access to maternity leave.

No Child Labour

Employees must meet the legal minimum working age as required by their country’s law.

Safe & Healthy Conditions

Factories must provide clean, well-maintained facilities, including adequate washrooms and canteen areas.

Health & Safety Standards

Suppliers must have clear policies and procedures in place to ensure workplace safety.

Medical Care

Primary healthcare must be available on-site.

Rights & Representation

Workers’ representatives must be protected from discrimination and allowed to perform their duties within the workplace.

Ethical Supply Chain

Suppliers must ensure their own supply chains follow these same ethical standards and align with our Code of Conduct.

Independent Audits

All suppliers must agree to independent audits as required by BonChef to maintain compliance.

No Outsourcing or Homeworkers

Subcontracting or home-based work is strictly prohibited.

By enforcing these standards, we ensure that every BonChef product is made with integrity, respect, and responsibility. Protecting both the workers who make them and the customers who wear them.

Factory Auditing & Ethical Compliance

At BonChef, we take ethical manufacturing seriously. Every garment manufacturer we work with must undergo a formal ethical audit, ensuring fair labour practices, workplace safety, and environmental responsibility. These audits provide a transparent, verifiable assessment of social and environmental performance, helping us uphold the highest standards in our supply chain. To ensure full compliance, all our garment manufacturers must hold a valid audit certification from at least one of the following internationally recognised bodies:

✔ WRAP – Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production
✔ BSCI – Business Social Compliance Initiative
✔ SMETA – Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit

As an additional safeguard, our senior management team conducts regular, unannounced factory visits to personally verify working conditions and compliance. By maintaining these rigorous standards, we ensure that every BonChef uniform is produced ethically, responsibly, and with integrity.

Our Commitment to Preventing Modern Slavery

Modern slavery includes forced labour, human trafficking, servitude, and exploitation, and BonChef is committed to ensuring it has no place in our business or supply chain. We operate with integrity, transparency, and strict safeguards to prevent any form of modern slavery within our operations.
As part of our supplier policy, we conduct thorough due diligence before approving any manufacturer. This includes:

✔ Background checks – We verify that suppliers have no history of modern slavery offences.
✔ On-site audits – Our team reviews working conditions firsthand.
✔ Strict supplier agreements – All suppliers must adhere to our anti-slavery policy and ethical standards.

Supplier Compliance Requirements
To Maintain a contract with BonChef, suppliers must confirm that:

  • They comply with our ethical policy and uphold fair labour practices.
  • They hold at least one valid factory audit: WRAP, SEDEX, or BSCI.
  • Their audit reports are available for BonChef’s review.
  • They have taken active steps to eliminate modern slavery within their business.
  • They hold their own suppliers accountable for preventing modern slavery.
  • They pay employees at least the legal minimum wage in their country of operation.
  • They allow BonChef representatives to conduct audits when requested.

Failure to meet these requirements or any discovery of modern slavery in a supplier’s operations will result in immediate termination of the contract. By enforcing these standards, we ensure that every BonChef product is made ethically, responsibly, and free from exploitation.

Sustainable Actions for a Better Tommorrow

At BonChef, we know that every business has an environmental impact, and we take ours seriously.

We are committed to reducing our footprint wherever we can. That means cutting waste, using resources more responsibly, and working only with suppliers who share our values. From the materials we choose to the way we package and deliver our products, sustainability is considered at every step. We work with manufacturers who reduce water usage, limit waste, and make smart use of energy. Many of our garments are made with recycled fibres or lower-impact fabrics, so the choices you make in uniform sourcing can support a more sustainable future.

But it does not stop at the product. We have removed plastic strapping from our cartons, use recyclable packaging wherever possible, and repurpose shredded cardboard and pallets to extend the life of materials. Choosing BonChef means choosing quality that lasts and a company that is committed to doing better for the planet without compromising on performance or price.

Exceeding Environmental Standards

We go beyond industry minimums to meet higher standards for sustainability, safety and environmental care across our supply chain.

Ensuring Sustainable Product Design

Our garments are designed to last, using lower-impact fabrics and recycled materials wherever possible to support circular practices.

Reducing Our Environmental Footprint

From packaging to energy use, we constantly review and improve our processes to minimise waste and reduce our overall impact.

Certified and Verified Materials

We use trusted certifications to verify material origins and sustainability claims, giving you confidence in every product you buy.

Ethical Manufacturing Partners

We only work with factories that meet strict ethical and environmental criteria, ensuring fair conditions and reduced harm to the planet.

Chemical-Free Commitment

We prioritise fabrics and finishes that avoid harmful chemicals, protecting both the environment and the people who wear our products.

Greener Solutions Built Around Real Hospitality Needs

The BonChef 'Roots In' Initiative

At BonChef, sustainability is not just a feature of our products. It is part of the way we do business. The BonChef Green Tree Initiative is our commitment to restoring balance between what we create and what we give back. With every purchase, we plant a tree. Whether you are buying a single jacket or outfitting an entire team, your order supports global reforestation efforts.

Trees play a powerful role in protecting our environment. They take in carbon, clean the air and release oxygen, making the environment healthier for everyone. Their roots help keep soil in place and reduce flooding, while their leaves and branches create safe spaces for wildlife. Forested areas are essential to the planet’s long-term health, and we believe that every tree planted is a small but important step toward a more sustainable future.

We chose to launch this initiative because we believe the hospitality industry can be part of the solution. Uniforms and equipment will always be needed, but how they are made, shipped and sourced matters. The Green Tree Initiative allows us to balance this by investing in nature each time we do business. This is not a one-time campaign or marketing gesture. It is a long-term programme built into the way we operate. We are working with trusted reforestation partners to ensure that every tree planted has a measurable, lasting impact in areas that need it most.

When you choose BonChef, you are not only investing in durable, reliable workwear. You are also helping to grow something far more lasting — a greener, healthier planet for the future.

A single mature tree can absorb up to 25 kilograms of carbon dioxide each year.

Environmental Certifications

European Regulation (EC/2006/1907 - REACH Regulation) REACH

At BonChef, safety, compliance, and environmental responsibility sit at the heart of our manufacturing. We strictly follow REACH regulations, the European framework that manages the safe use of chemicals to protect people and the planet. REACH covers the registration, evaluation, authorisation, and restriction of chemicals to identify substances that may pose a risk. Harmful chemicals are added to the Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC) list, which is regularly updated in line with the latest research. BonChef is committed to full compliance and ensures that none of our products contain any chemicals from this list in any amount.

Oeko-Tex Standard 100

At BonChef, quality, safety, and performance go hand in hand. That is why every uniform meets the Oeko Tex Standard 100, a globally recognised certification that confirms textiles are free from harmful chemicals and safe for human health. We know that modern hospitality professionals expect more from their workwear, including vibrant colours, easy care fabrics, and high performance materials that can withstand the demands of the job. We test every component, from fabric and thread to labels, linings, buttons, and zips, to ensure maximum comfort, durability, and safety. By requiring all our products to achieve Oeko Tex Standard 100 certification, we deliver uniforms that perform without compromise and that are safe for you, your team, and the environment.

Oeko-Tex Step

We prioritise ethical and sustainable production. That’s why the majority of our fabrics come from Oeko-Tex STeP accredited factories, ensuring the highest standards in environmental performance, worker safety, and social responsibility. We are actively working with our entire manufacturing network to expand participation in the STeP auditing scheme, reinforcing our commitment to responsible sourcing and sustainable production.
